Historic settlement on the south shore, beachfront and calm

About
Bodden Town is the island’s original capital, on the south shore between Savannah and the eastern districts. It has stayed a village — local rather than touristic, with a couple of historic sites and a reef-sheltered shoreline. Villas here are beachfront with private beach access, and the reef sitting just offshore keeps the swimming calm. George Town is around twenty minutes west, and the East End and Rum Point beaches are a comparable drive in the other direction.
